Batik Cushion-Sun Pattern

This exquisite cushion is expertly crafted from batik fabric adorned with radiant sun patterns.

The sun pattern holds great significance, serving as a key decorative motif on the bronze drum, a vital sacrificial instrument among the ethnic minorities in southwest China. It also stands as one of the most ancient patterns in the traditional art of batik in Guizhou Province. Miao craftsmen employ this pattern as a means of expressing their profound reverence for their ancestors and their worship of the sun.

Each cushion is adorned with a total of nine meticulously hand-painted sun patterns. The deep, lustrous blue hue is derived from indigo grass, and it also includes a cushion insert, ensuring both beauty and comfort.
